Unholy Vendetta were good, was very impressed. The 17year old was very talented. However the performance value of the band really was lacking. You are meant to be entertainers fellow's, move around stop just standing there, that is boring. The bassist was entertaining, but mostly because everytime I saw him I kept thinking lolslipknot. Vocals were amazing, riffs were tight, and I enjoyed Unholy the most of the night.
Chud were also great, loved the bassist's voice. (I know, he plays guitar in Chud, but I don't know their name's so you will just have to forgive me). Chud actually acted like they were enjoying themselves (Yes I know they are the same people, but this time they moved around a little). Music was good, but I enjoyed Unholy Vendetta's music more, but the enjoyed Chud's vocals more.
Tortured were alright, was tired and the missus showed up after work and she didn't really want to hang around so we left. Didn't really care for tortured, it was tight and solid, but just seemed very generic and I couldn't get into it.
Left before Punishment came on, unfortunately.

Cheers for the review! Here's mine. I won't say too much the bands, since I'm biased, but I wanted to share my thoughts on the night as whole, because it was pretty damn fun!! The gold coin thing worked really well, it was a decent turnout despite the rain, huge thanks to everyone who paid a little extra. We covered costs with a little bit extra we gave to Damo - Sound guy because we ran a little bit overtime. Much respect to the ANU staff for being awesome, as usual. I'll definitely be doing more of these 'local showcase' gigs. Just for fun! If bands want on this or you have a request, email me: missmanagement@netspace.net.au NOTE: It doesn't pay, so if you're after the dollars, it's not for you. I put this gig on for J (bass for Punishment & CHUD, guitar / vocals for Unholy Vendetta), he wanted to play all 3 of his bands for his birthday. I originally wanted the 3 bands and then an interstate headliner, but I couldn't book any of the bands I wanted. I'm really happy that we ended up having Tortured on, they played well and were fun to have around. It's always great to meet bands that have the same principles about their music as Punishment, CHUD & Unholy Vendetta. They just want to play and do their thing. It was good to hear Punishment, CHUD & Unholy Vendetta on the same night to really confirm that despite being made up of predominantly the same members, they sound nothing alike. Unholy Vendetta - This was their first gig. I hadn't heard these guys jam for months, so I was stoked to hear it. I can't wait to see them progress more as a band in the next year. The bass player's disguise is brilliant, we totally don't know who he is . CHUD - Played really well, sounded spectacular. They played the ANU 2 weeks ago but had a different sound guy so they didn't sound as they should, this time with Damo back on board, it was so much better. People coming through the door while CHUD was playing paid more money to the door than at any other time during the night. Weird. Tortured - I hadn't heard these guys play before. They sounded really good, fast and brutal but still groovy. Good guys too. We're teaming up to invade Wagga Wagga in June! They helped a lot with promoting the gig too, which is expected but appreciated none the less. Punishment - Played really well, sounded really good. Damo really works his magic when it comes to Punishment, he seems to have an ear for it. They played a new 'track in progress' at the end which I had only heard in riff form a few months back. The Tortured cameo appearance on stage was hilarious. I love the buzz after a really fun gig. Thanks to everyone involved, let's do it all again soon!
