Well I enjoyed the recordings of SM that I have managed to hear, so i guess it will be up to the show to see if I like 'em live.

i think anyone could vouch for this.. maybe they were having an off night but for christ sake it was woeful! I've been told about this band being pretty terrible, when did they play here? Are they one of those bands that you have to actually see to believe how bad they really are?

Sanguinary Misanthropia were great in Sydney – partly why I invited them on this tour. They were also the first to put their hand up to do support for ADM, so they got the job. By all accounts they had fun up here despite dismal turnouts in both Sydney & Canberra which is why they came back. Also, remember that when you saw them in Canberra last year – they haven’t done more than a handful of shows – that in combination with there being 20 people there probably didn’t help their performance. This time should be better – so get off your asses Canberra and come to this gig. You won’t see anything like this again for a long time to come.

I can see what you're saying, plenty of bands have a bad night sooner or later, I generally like to see a band a few times before I make up my mind about them... However, this there being 20 people there probably didn’t help their performance. is not really an excuse for a bad performance. Most bands I deal with really couldn't care less how many people are watching them, they just want to play. Taking the attandance numbers personally is not really fair to the few people who did actually turn up to see the band.

But from a purely human perspective here - neither is it an encouraging sight for somebody who travelled 700km to play the show. Canberra has been known for schtzophrenic attendance numbers - like the the time Hate Eternal came to play to 50, whilst KFS got 200 the next week. But please don't take this personally - all I'm saying is come to this show and tell as many people as you can to do the same. It will be a good one.

It's cool, I get it. Lesson for the band though, if they had played a kick ass show last time, then the few people who did see them would be raving about them.
Canberra can be up and down, but those numbers can probably be explained.. Hate Eternal was probably on a weekday and / or poorly promoted.
And I don't think KFS pulled 200.. considering the maximum capacity at Canberra's venues and how seldom they play the ANU Bar (being the only venue that would fit 200 payers plus bands and staff).
(btw, not having a go at you, I realise you probably got your information from someone in Canberra who likes to exaggerate, just setting everyone straight).
I hope the gig goes well. Where are Sanguinary from?

Where are Sanguinary from? That gig was at the Green Room and I know because I played support and heard the number of payers. We got paid a shitload of money that night. SM are from Melbourne.

i'll try to make this.. unless theyre playing mighty ducks on tv or something.. but yeah im not expecting anything from SM to be honest... i heard their recordings and they're nowhere near as bad as that canberra show (which was supporting cemetery urn at the ANU btw ms man) but don't excite me too much neither.. but hey nothing excites me these days...

Shadow Magus is kinda on abit of a plateau at the moment. Not much has been happening. Also, that Catacombs of Sodomy thing was not me. That was an ex-friend's thing which he tried to get me in but i thought him and his music was shit and I didn't want to take part in. I wrote one of the guitar riffs though. Such a waste hah. At the beginning of the SM days he claimed to be in SM. Hes a dickhead and I havn't seen him around since.
