So i'm looking to start a band. I think I can do dirtyvocals (working on clarifying if anyone actually thinks I am good though).
I can't play an instrument well but do own a synth and am trying to improve on that so I'll be playing synth in the band.
The line-up I would ideally like to have would be: synth vocals, both dirty and clean (need someone else for this) baritone guitar either a normal electric but preferably acoustic (I don't actually know if an acoustic electric guitar would work in a band setting with lots of drums and what not, but it would be interesting) Bass Drums.
I would like a kind of experimental/metal/nu-metal kind of sound, but I want it to be ugly. So think OTEP, Mudvayne, Headkase, with a kind of twisted clean sound and a brutal crushing heavy death/grind mix.
Sorry if I have explained this poorly or whatnot, never tried anything like this.
The band will preferably be mostly studio, I don't wish to be doing a show every 2-3 weeks, but i'm willing to reconsider if other people wish to play more regular shows.

Also for slightly more clarification think of the way Nirvana structure their songs. They have soft/heavy mixes, where they'll go from soft melodies to harder rock style riffs. What i'd like would be to have soft melodies (nothing to orchestral/synthy though) and then slam into heavy death metal /grindcore riffs.
Also, would like a kind of mod band. Not really as a gimmick thing, but as a way to enhance the performance aspect and to enhance the atmosphere of the music we would be playing.

Found anyone for this yet?
I thought I replied when I first joined....but nope. Definitely interested if we can round up a few more, I play guitar, have done clean vocals before (Garm kinda clean vox, Ukind of like Ulver stuff) and can play bass (also own one).

Pulled them, as it's probably a far better idea, to get a decent recording done, THEN throw it up, rather than throw up a shitful home job THEN put a decent one up.

I am, currently learning keyboard, and practising drums. (when this new job's pay kicks in, i'll be getting lessons), but hell, I like to have fun too.
As a note, lock this thread, as while i'm still interested in starting a band as a keyboardist it is not for PD.
