So I'm putting on a gig with a rock band soon.. I haven't decided the final line up yet, I was thinking a Rock / Metal theme, nothing too heavy or too serious, just for fun.
Who here is into it?

I found it very bland and the drummer sounds like he's playing on the same drums used in St Anger.
Might be decent live though.

Now there's no need to throw around insults.. I think the music is meant for live shows, not recordings. Their performance will be a whole lot of fun. ;D

www.myspace.com/meniscusmusicSlightly Isis kind of a sound, but with an octopus for a drummer. Although, I don't think the myspace songs showcase him that well.

A serious question; does anybody in Canberra like metal bands that a)aren't stoner-rock and b) like them in a non-ironic sense?
I get the feeling a lot of metalheads go to see bands like Tonk for the novelty rather than actually enjoying the music.

hmm, I listen to a fair bit of extreme metal, but its hard to find live shows of that sort in Canberra (I think). Maybe thats why the novelty factor comes into it for some people.

Never seen Tonk. But yeah, i'd say it's mostly novelty.
