if your in it you get hurt, if your not your chance of getting hurt reduces to 50%... also depends if its a metal or hardcore or punk pit too, cause they are all characteristically different.

I think there is a few. Not much.
NO FUCKING NINJA MOVES. NO. FUCK OFF. DIE.
Also if everyone is up the front, standing and having a drink, don't slam mosh into everyone spilling their drinks, you'll just end up looking like a wanker having some form of epileptic fit and one who'll probably end the night with a concussion.
Aside from that, not really.

Did anyone here go to an Entropy gig in March (i think), at the basement? Everyone was pretty much doing as Asha said, standing up front, with their drinks, nodding lethargically. But one guy, was going insane just behind them, he was hardcore dancing in the free space. I think I even saw a ninja move

If someone goes down, you pick 'em back up. Srsly. Too many people have died over the years for this basic courtesy to be ignored.

I was in a huge fucking machinehead mosh a year or two ago, and EVERYONE followed this rule. If someone went down, everyone pretty much body slammed the others out of the way to get them back up. It was quite the champion effort.

I think if someones falls pick em up. If someone looks too far into the rough waters of mosh you pull em out. i think blatently throwing punches and such is just a dick move.

I beleive there is an unwritten rule that if you see someone fall you pick them up. if people are getting hurt then lift them out. don't punch people that are not punching you most people will try and create themselves a space... respect peoples space at every show i go to if i like a band i like to ruff the crowd up a bit lol but if you notice that your just being obnoxious leave or chill lol

Don't go in a mosh pit and then whine and complain when someone inevitably crashes into you and you get hurt. That's what happens. Can't handle the snow? Then what are you fucking doing in Norway? I've had bitches yell at me for bumping into them.. In a mosh pit... Wtf?
