Complain when you are in the highest tax bracket, have children, and get none of these free handouts because you spent time getting an education and a good job. Being punished for putting in an effort to have a decent life and not rely on government handouts while having to fund everybody elses is somewhat annoying... I didn't even get a free cent, let alone 900 bucks recently. Bitch about paying for other peoples welfare when you are entitled to NOTHING. There's no incentive in this country to work hard and earn good money. Now I'll even be dicked out of private health insurance rebate and super contributions.

The incentive to work IS to earn good money, and you do. A person earning $150'000 after tax doesn't need anywhere near as much as the person working the same hours and earning $35'000. I say this because I work full time and don't even earn 35'000 a year, so if you are in the highest tax bracket you are a hell of a lot better off financially than alot of other people. I don't care if you bought a 1million dollar house and your mortgage is 5times the size of mine, you chose such an expensive house because you COULD afford it. Whereas someone on a lower bracket sure as hell could not. Don't whinge 'cause you are better off financially than most australians. You are not being 'punished', you just aren't gaining benefits, because you don't need them. Please keep this on babies, I know I went off on a tangent with the whole money thing.

Missing the point entirely....
I don't want handouts, but I don't think other people should be getting them because they earn less. People should live within their means and if the government are handing out money it should go to everybody, ESPECIALLY those who support the damn country with the tax they pay, often being way more than the average annual income. The government doesn't owe you a free ride, and neither do those of us who earn good money. If you are working and need welfare, you are living beyond your means, plain and simple. Don't have kids, don't go out on the piss, don't smoke, don't buy anything that's not a necessity until you can afford to do so off your own back.
The welfare mentality and sense of entitlement of people on below average or barely average income is ridiculous in this country.
People on higher incomes are punished, with things in the latest budget in particular. Removing the tax breaks on super contributions for one. Why in the hell would you take that away when these people are the ones who wont be living off a government pension? We are already taxed 48%, but apparently the "rich" in this country just aren't doing their bit to support dole bludgers and layabouts.
A family of 4 on a combined income of 150K with a mortgage, car loan, private health etc. are hardly well off, but are now being told they should be rolling in enough cash to fund other peoples laziness. They aren't a burden on the country either. Another family with 8 kids living in a govvie house paying $50 a week rent and know every benefit they can claim are likely to be living far more comfortably these days. You don't think there's a problem with that? Where's the incentive to do anything?
Welcome to Soviet Australia, Comrades.

Ok, now here is my situation and feel free to say I am living beyond my means.
I pay $390 a week rent, $30 a week for parking, $50 a fortnight for internet (a total of 3gig a month), I have to pay $3 every time I wash clothes. If I leave where I live I am forced to pay for the rent until they get someone else in.(Read: They won't) If I leave early I lose my $1440 security deposit. I pay $150 a week to the bank due to circumstances that happened whilst I was living at home, that accrued a debt I shouldn't have (I know, living beyond my means.
I work full-time and the best wage i have been given so far is 11.62 and that grants me $400 a week. I also live with my gf who goes to uni full-time and works 20-30 hours a week on a lesser wage and only makes about $200.
Now you tell me, how am I supposed to live when I can't afford anything more than bread and vegemite?

Working nighttime shift work you should be earning at least 16-17 bucks an hour MINIMUM. dunno if you have any qualifications, but if not, it doesn't really matter, just try to get into warehousing type stuff or something, there's usually pretty good coin in that sorta stuff

Harden up princess. I moved out of home at 13 and supported myself without any welfare. If I had to live off bread and vegemite, live in share housing, and shock fucking horror, have no internet, that's the kind of thing I did. My tax dollars do not owe you comfort because you are in debt and can't afford to feed yourself due to stupid decisions. Share housing and common sense would solve your woes. You quite obviously can't afford to live by yourself, so fucking don't. Don't think you deserve to be helped out because you prefer luxuries you can't afford.... Fuck me dead.....Your tale of woe is exactly the kind of "I'm fucking hard done by and deserve free money" shit I'm talking about.... Self created hardship....Durrrrrrr

I had to live where i live due to uni. And I DON'T live on my own. I NEED the internet, if I am to pass university. I don't HAVE luxuries. I'm in debt due to a car accident so fuck yourself. I LIVE in share housing.
Common sense? I can't LEAVE, if I do I STILL have to pay $390 a week. You tell me how I am supposed to leave and rent a cheaper place elsewhere while still paying that?

I didn't. I had 3 weeks from when I was notified I got into Uni, until I had to move from Brisbane to Canberra. I tried about 24-30 places but no-one would allow it without a interview and I couldn't come down for an interview without living down here. It was all we could get on short notice, and they forced us to sign a contract if we wanted to stay here.
Also. Just for information for Einsats, I have never once, gotten a government hand-out aside from this $900 i did not ask for. So don't bitch as if your money is going towards my comfort, because it ain't. I am not saying I deserve hand-outs, I don't, i could get them if I wanted to, but I choose not to.
Also, if I kiss you will you become my prince?
