Totally are, we should make a thread in the discussion section. However it's not so much about zealotry unless your songs are entitled, 'Praise be to Jesus' and 'Death to faggots', 'dykes burn in righteous fury' and whatnot. Just because something has religious overtones wether for (cross) or counter (deicide) doesn't make it zealos. Deicide song titles: Kill the Christian When Satan Rules his world Satan spawn the caco-demon Bastard of christ etc etc etc If that ain't satanic zealotry, i dunno what is.... And the thing is, i don't really give a shit. I really like old Deicide stuff coz musically, it's brutal as fuck. But if i check out CTLOG and i like what i hear, i'm not gonna refuse to acknowledge their worth as a band or bag the fuck out of 'em, simply becauase they happen to be (or used to be or whatever the fuck) christians. That's hypocritical bullshit and it's retarded |

Let's keep the comments about how christian this band is, not about how anti-christian Deicide is.  Does it matter? Not to everyone. I just wondered if a non-christian band would have come up with the name 'Cross the lips of grace'. My question answered. I should have put a after my second comment to make it obvious it was a joke. I didn't say YOU had to hate this band for being christian, so just relax. |

Nah I'm not having a go at anyone in particular or stirring shit, i just thought that seeing as the question of religious leanings of a band was brought up, Id ask the question of whether those leanings bore any relevance to the musical merits of the the band.
Probably best left to another thread though....
