I'm hardly saying your full of shit. I'm saying that I think $30 for a shirt (even one that cost $18.50) is too much.
I really have no idea why you are taking it so very personally.

It's not a personal thing, i'm speaking for pretty much anyone in a band. I really can't arsed trying to explain anymore, but if you reeeeeeaaly want to have that argument, i suggest taking it to another thread.
Otherwise lets just agree to disagree

The night was super fun, turn out was good and bands all slayed - thank you to all those who came out!
For an alternate perspective on the whole t-shirt debate:
Coming from someone who has just paid his left testicle along with 4 other dudes in a band to release an album and organise and pay for everything that goes along with it, juggling expenses in a band is no easy task. It takes self-sacrifice and a lot of hard work. Obviously bands try to keep costs down as a much as possible (dur it's basic market theory), however, there comes a point, especially with independent bands, that you HAVE to make money. You won't survive without it, at least not out of your Mum and Dad's garage.
The problem with t-shirts is that many independent bands don't have the capital to get a large run of t-shirts done. So I think in Tortured's case they may have got 50-60 units done. When doing so with a number of colours on the t-shirt the unit price is quite high. If for example Tortured had the capital to get 200-300 t-shirts printed then their unit price would be a lot lower and you would pay less - sure. But they are a new and independent band and simply don't have that money. As a band you want t-shirts that look good, because when reduced, it's literally advertising for your band everytime someone wears it. They don't need to answer for having $30 shirts.
At the end of the day it comes down to supporting the scene and keeping it alive. If you pay an extra couple of dollars for a t-shirt, it doesn't go to a bands stash of cocaine, it goes straight back into the band - to support the scene you like so much - to support the gigs that you like going to and to keep it moving along. Please keep this in mind that next time you're complaining about paying a few extra dollars for a t-shirt.

Holy shit, I missed the whole of page 2 on this thread. Thanks for the review Kurt. In Malice's Wake were thrashy?! weird... Enough about the damn shirts.

All this over the price of a tshirt?? Listen i know for a fact how much they were and we are making very little money off them, the inital set up fee for a shirt of the design quality is actually alot of money and and we only got 55 shirts printed, the next run of shirts we will be able to do for cheaper but this run unfortunatley we couldnt, everyone in the band paid for their own shirt aswell, so it not like we are trying to rip anyone off. I personally didnt think we would sell any with templestowe shirts being as cheap as they were but we did. So thankyou to those who bought one. And dude If you have a drama with it dont buy one simple. Or better keep your opinion to yourself.

Hey guys, Shaun from In Malice's Wake here. Myself and the guys had a total ripper up there and loved every minute of it, so thanks for having us - hoping to be back soon. To Missmanagement regarding us being melodic - you were probably right, our EP blackened skies was a much more melodic release than much of the new stuff we've been putting out - that cd is around 4 - 5 years old. We've been enjoying pumping in a healthy dose of speed and agression into our later material - the melodic side is still there, but much less prominent. Anyway thanks again - look forward to getting up there again soon! Shaun www.inmaliceswake.com www.myspace.com/inmaliceswake
